Whiz Kid Sense of Humor

Bob Miller, a Phillies "Whiz Kid," who won the NL pennant in 1950 is one of my all-time favorite people. The Michigan Hall of Fame coach tells such great stories, always humorous, always sincere, always spot on, especially about politics and changes we are seeing in baseball. Bob never smoked but did a Camel cigarette ad with two of the most beautiful models he’d ever seen in New York. “And here I come in, bouncing the ball in my hand. I sit down between the girls, take out a pack of cigarettes and ask them if they care for a Camel. Boy, those were the days.”
